Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) was a Flemish Baroque painter and a Diplomat, knighted by Philip IV of Spain and Charles I of England. Ruben was one of the most talented Painters in Europe, and due to his frequent work for royal and diplomatic figures of the time, known as "the prince of painters and the painter of princes." His commissioned works were mostly religious and mythological "history paintings" for the Church.
