Pissarro

Camille Pissarro (1830 -1903) was a Danish-French Impressionist painter, printmaker. A leading figure in the history of the Impressionist Movement. His wisdom, kindness, and artistic insights shaped the development of the early 20th-century avant-garde.

Pissarro mentored Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat and was among the first supporters of Van Gogh. Cézanne said that  "he was a father for me. A man to consult and a little like the good Lord." Art historian John Rewald called Pissarro the "dean of the Impressionist painters."

"Everything is beautiful. All that matters is to be able to interpret." Camille Pissarro
