Titled “Daniel," the Neoclassical Pop Art artwork inspired by Peter Paul Rubens drawing "Seated Male Youth (Study for Daniel) ", created 1577–1640, currently located at the Morgan Museum.
The Original; drawing served Rubens as a basis for Daniel's figure in his painting Daniel in the Lions' Den. Like da Vinci, Michelangelo, and other Old Masters, Rubens typically created studies of the model for main figures to guide the studio assistants in the execution of the painting after determining the place of the figures in compositional drawings and oil sketches. He used black chalk to outline the figure and blocked out shadows to represent volume and light. The painting's resemblance to the drawing suggests that it is in the final drawing used in the creation.
This charming portrait is an original Neoclassical Pop Art artwork that is both classical and contemporary, a Fine Art Print adding character decorating the walls of your home.
