Product Description

Back to the evening concert hall. Neoclassical Pop Art returns the composer to the concert hall in a nocturnal Pop take, a new work on canvas. Purple, pink and turquoise give the print a nocturnal glow, light on the wall and just as intense.

With “Beethoven, The Solemn Mass Portrait” in purple, pink and turquoise, Neoclassical Pop Art returns “A Portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven”, an oil painting by Joseph Karl Stieler (1820; the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn), to the evening concert hall.

Ludwig van Beethoven was a revolutionary German composer and pianist and one of the most admired composers in the history of Western music; his works rank amongst the most performed of the classical music repertoire.

Commissioned by Beethoven's friends, Franz and Antonie Brentano, the painting shows Beethoven seven years before his death, at the age of 49.

Holding a pencil in his hand the painting portrays Beethoven working on the notes to his "Missa Solemnis."

According to the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft Bicentennial Edition of "Ludwig Van Beethoven," the composer gave the painter several sittings keeping motionless the head posture, claimed was hard to model.

A contemporary print, created by the Neoclassical Pop Art studio.

Night colour for a night-owl composer.

Made for true art lovers, it is a collectible statement piece where the old masters meet pop culture.
