Product Description
Light blue washes over the ideal man on a silver pocket watch, a cool morning version of the famous study. Light blue is Neoclassical Pop Art's choice, and the new version makes the old drawing a new Pop artwork. It reads like a page from a sketchbook kept in a waistcoat.
“Vitruvian Man”, as Neoclassical Pop Art paints it here, washes Leonardo da Vinci's “The Vitruvian Man” in light blue; the ink-on-paper drawing dates from c. 1490, was made after Vitruvio and is held at the Gabinetto dei disegni e delle stampe of the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, Italy. Its Pop palette turns brown ink into a cool morning colour.
The original Vitruvian Man drawing was created by Leonardo da Vinci around 1490, based on the proportions described by Vitruvius, the 1st-century BC Roman architect whose De architectura is the oldest surviving book on architecture. Known as "Le proporzioni del corpo umano secondo Vitruvio," or the "proportions of the human body according to Vitruvius", it demonstrates how the blending of mathematics and art provoked the Classical Renaissance symmetry and harmony.
Time to evolve. Centered in a kinetic art spiral, the Neoclassical Pop Art account of the Vitruvian Man suggests a Time Traveler connecting the the prestige of the Old Masters ethical principles with the modern scientific digital era qualities.
Quiet circle, quiet square.
