Product Description

The goddess of love, in yellow, red and ocher. What you see is a new painting, Neoclassical Pop Art's tribute to the Renaissance goddess, one that keeps the Florentine composition and changes everything about its colour. This is a hand-painted oil, so the warmth sits in the brushwork as well as the colour, and it anchors a living room or bedroom with quiet confidence.

“La Femme: Venus, Reborn” is a new hand-painted Neoclassical Pop Art oil, an original artwork paying homage to Sandro Botticelli's landmark painting “The Birth of Venus”, created c. 1485 and held at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. In yellow, red and ocher, the goddess keeps the Renaissance pose and gains a contemporary warmth.

Sandro Botticelli, 1445-1510, was one of the most significant Florentine Painters. The painting is regarded as a milestone and perhaps the most appreciated mainstream Italian show-stopper masterpiece that defines the pith of the 15th century Italian Renaissance.

The story comes from the Greek myth of Kronos and Uranus. In return, Venus, the Goddess of Love and beauty, rises as a fully formed mature woman from the foam of a cresting wave and is carried on a shell drifting to shore in Cyprus.

Adding to the myth, Botticelli portrays Venus blown to the shore by the mythological Greek gods of the winds.

The portrait of Venus is related to the model Simonetta Vespucci, who pondered a figure of feminine beauty all through Florence.

Botticelli's attention to the feminine beauty, style, appeal, and divine glam, highlighted by the illustration of Venus' hairstyle, inspired generations of Pop Culture artists amongst Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Lady Gaga, and Beyonce.

Botticelli promotes Venus as an icon of love, a wellspring for spiritual development and inner beauty, an idea derived from Plato's philosophy, contending that the contemplation on the object of beauty triggers the brain's subconscious and conscious activity to more easily attain a meditative state of harmony and love.

The artwork, initially commissioned by the Medici Family, a major patron of Botticelli, was loomed over the family marital bed, a daring act for that time that still makes it a perfect wall art to finish your bedroom interior design however, Venus bring her blessings of love to any space.

For the collector who wants the most famous arrival in art history at home.
