In its classic palette, “Vitruvian Man” remains a Neoclassical Pop Art version, redrawing “The Vitruvian Man”, Leonardo da Vinci's ink-on-paper drawing of c. 1490 after Vitruvio, now in the Gabinetto dei disegni e delle stampe of the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, Italy, with the clarity of Pop. Face-mounted, it becomes a centrepiece for an office or a studio.
The original Vitruvian Man drawing was created by Leonardo da Vinci around 1490, based on the proportions described by Vitruvius, the 1st-century BC Roman architect whose De architectura is the oldest surviving book on architecture. Known as "Le proporzioni del corpo umano secondo Vitruvio," or the "proportions of the human body according to Vitruvius", it demonstrates how the blending of mathematics and art provoked the Classical Renaissance symmetry and harmony.
