Product Description
Velázquez painted a fellow painter, and the portrait keeps its dignity in orange and brown on heavy brushed fleece. Neoclassical Pop Art's new version recolours that Spanish court portrait, so the hoodie carries a new artwork with a Golden Age source. A Renaissance figure study on the front adds a second layer of meaning.
Old-master gravity, Saturday-morning comfort.
This comfy unisex hoodie has a soft outside and even softer brushed fleece inside.
Let style take over your wardrobe where fashion meets the art. This statement piece unisex hoodie is bound to become a true favorite.
“Margarita, Pop de Madrid” is Neoclassical Pop Art's homage to Velázquez's painting “Juan de Pareja”, created in 1650 and held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Manhattan, New York, USA, a new portrait that carries the sitter's dignity into Pop colour. Juan de Pareja, a notable painter in his own right, was enslaved and owned by Velázquez at the time the painting was created. One of the few black man painting of the time.
At the front "Universal Man," an artwork inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's famous ink on paper drawing "The Vitruvian Man", created c. 1490 after Vitruvio, currently at the Gabinetto dei disegni e delle stampe of the Gallerie dell'Accademia, in Venice, Italy.
This hoodie has a relaxed fit, and it's perfect for wrapping yourself on a chilly night.
